As one of the largest banks in America, Capital One has a vast portfolio of credit card offerings. Thus, to find the best Capital One card for you, it’s important to consider what you’re looking for – and how good your credit is.

For this Capital One card comparison, we’ve broken things down into sections. Hopefully this helps you make an informed decision on what the best Capital One credit card is for you!

Best Capital One Card for Travel: Venture

Capital One Venture

Annual Fee: $95, but waived the first year
Credit Level: Excellent
Signup Bonus: 50,000 miles after spending $3,000 in 3 months (worth $500 towards travel)
Rewards: 2x miles per $1 spent on all purchases (equivalent to 2% back in travel credit). 10x miles at Hotels.com

The Capital One Venture card is a favorite of frequent travelers. It features a generous signup bonus and a good daily earning rate. Reward miles are very easy to use – you simply redeem them against travel purchases on your card to lower the charge.

With that said, there is a $95 annual fee ($ 0 for the first year) and you’ll need very good credit to be approved for this card. If you can get it, though, it’s among the best Capital One cards available – and it easily stacks up with some of the best travel rewards cards on the market.

Best Capital One Credit Card for Cashback: Savor

Capital One Savor

Annual Fee: $ 0
Credit Level: Excellent
Signup Bonus: $150 after spending $500 within 3 months
Rewards: 3% cashback on dining, 2% on groceries and 1% on everything else

The Capital One Savor card is fairly new, but we consider it to be the best Capital One credit card for cashback purposes. It has an interesting earning rate that is great for people who dine out a lot.

A lot of people will recommend the Quicksilver, which earns a flat 1.5% cashback on everything (there are good no annual fee cards that earn 2% back, though). The best option for you depends on your spending habits. We compared the Savor and Quicksilver in detail here.

Best Capital One Card for Low Credit: QuicksilverOne

Capital One QuicksilverOne

Annual Fee: $39
Credit Level: Average
Signup Bonus: None
Rewards: 1.5% cashback on all purchases

The Capital One QuicksilverOne is designed for people with average/low credit. Thus, it’s easier to get approved for than some of the premium cards. And it still earns a solid 1.5% cashback, although there is a $39 annual fee.

This is the best Capital One credit card for low credit – unless you are a student, in which case the Journey Student card may be a better choice, as it has no annual fee.

Best Capital One Credit Card for No Credit: Secured Mastercard

Capital One Secured Mastercard

Annual Fee: $ 0 (requires a refundable deposit of $49-$200, depending on credit)
Credit Level: Rebuilding/low/limited
Signup Bonus: None
Rewards: None

The best Capital One card for no credit is the Secured Platinum Mastercard. The card is designed for people with limited credit history, or with bad marks on their credit. It’s easy to get approved for, but the catch is that it requires a (refundable) cash deposit. There are some unsecured cards for bad credit, but they usually have more fees than this Capital One card.

Basically, when you apply Capital One will pull your credit and determine your creditworthiness. If you are approved, you will be asked to make a deposit from your bank account – either $49, $99 or $200, depending on your credit score. That will get you an initial credit line of $200, which can be raised after you make your fist 5 monthly payments on time. Your deposit will be refunded if you ever close the card.
